Leading up to Colorado Gives Day on December 9th, ISO will be sharing the stories of how our staff, board members, and musicians were once moved and inspired by music. Today’s feature is ISO’s Administrative and Program Assistant, Sara Hare. Here’s what she has to say:

“When I played my first notes on the oboe as an 8 year old, a very shaky rendition of “Hot Cross Buns”, I had no idea that music would shape my life in such an important way. I owe everything I am to my participation in music growing up. I learned to work hard, I learned to leap outside my comfort zone, and I learned that when it comes down to it, humans are all the same no matter their language or country of birth. I am a better person today because I was touched by music as a child.”

If you were once inspired by music as a child, please consider donating to us this December 9th at https://www.coloradogives.org/InsideOrchestra .
