Conductor Tom talks about what inspires him and shares a photo from anInside the Orchestra school concert in 1992:
“I have a wonderful job! I get to do the two things I know how to do– conduct and talk. Imagine, for over 29 years I have had the most fantastic work scenario — facing audiences while introducing young people of all ages to orchestral music.
It’s the kids’ enthusiasm that drives and inspires me. In this particular picture, a young elementary school girl is trying her hand at conducting. She had a grin from ear to ear on her face. Needless to say, she did a great job! I have learned so much from my young patrons over the last three decades of doing this unique concert program. And my fellow musicians have given me incredible support to make this “inside” thing work.”
