Tiny Tots gets children truly “inside the orchestra” by seating the audience on the floor and surrounding them with our 30+ piece professional orchestra.
Designed for children six and under, Tiny Tots is a 45-minute program that gives young ones the chance to interact with the conductor and the musicians and learn about the instruments in the process. Children are encouraged to respond to different elements of the music, from thinking about how music makes them feel to getting on their feet and moving. They are treated to up-close-and-personal demos by various instruments, introduced to musical concepts, emotional understanding of the arts, and artistic expression. The music selection, design, and scripting of Tiny Tots is geared to connect very young children with music – physically, emotionally, and mentally. Children are also encouraged to take a closer look at the instruments and ask questions of the musicians after the concert has concluded. Every Tiny Tots event includes guest performers from some of our cultural partner organizations.
Tiny Tots was named in Denver Westword’s “Best of Denver“. The experience is one-of-a-kind!
This winter, take a musical walk through the four seasons with the orchestra. You’ll get to stomp along like thunder with the big bass drum, grow and get taller like the rising sun during music that sounds like sunrise on autumn trees, and sing and dance along as the orchestra plays around you. The music includes orchestral classics, children’s singalong favorites, and modern pop songs.
Please note: History Colorado has changed its policy. Tiny Tots attendees over the age of four no longer get free access to the museum. If you would like to visit the museum exhibits before or after the performance, you will need to purchase a ticket for those over the age of four. You can do so from History Colorado online or at the museum. You do not need museum passes to attend Tiny Tots only.
