What is Jazz?
Jazz first emerged and became popular in the United States over one hundred years ago. It combined European musical traditions with African American traditions to create a style of music that was rhythmic, grooving, and fun.
A group of musicians who play jazz music together are usually called a jazz band or a jazz orchestra. These groups use a lot of the same instruments as an orchestra with other instruments added in, like the saxophone.

Print out, color, and cut out the instrument below to create your own jazz band. We suggest printing these onto cardstock or gluing them onto cardboard before cutting to make them more sturdy.
