Summer Appeal

I am thrilled to have recently wrapped up my first 100 days as Executive Director. I am mindful that I am responsible for the management of a treasured institution. What we do at Inside the Orchestra is simply magical and as the only professional orchestra in the world exclusively focused on programming for young people, Inside the Orchestra is a gift for families in the Denver metro area and a vibrant part of our thriving community. I know I will never forget the first time I brought my two young boys to experience Tiny Tots.

From our Tiny Tots concerts & in-school enrichment programs to our virtual curriculum, games and activities, Inside the Orchestra is bringing engaging and fun music programming that enhances young people’s lives every day. Our talented musicians continue making beautiful music and bringing the orchestra to students throughout the metro community – and now because of our virtual programming – the world.

Like so many nonprofit organizations, the pandemic was not easy for Inside the Orchestra, but thanks to the community, we remained fiscally sound over the last few (difficult) years, but, we are not yet out of the woods. While we are back to providing in-person programming, we are not yet back to our pre-pandemic numbers; we are still relying heavily on people like you to help us build.

As we near the end of our fiscal year, we are looking toward next year with eagerness and excitement. We hope you will continue to support the organization with your generous donations. Your gifts will help ensure that next year we are able to serve young people in the following ways:

Tiny Tots– Our signature orchestra performance for young people.  We believe every child should have access to
the arts in truly engaging ways. IO is committed to ensuring that the performers and styles of music performed
represent diverse cultural backgrounds. Next season, we will host 32 performances across the metro area.  And
we always offer free or discounted tickets to families and students when requested – we have a completely open-
door policy at Inside the Orchestra, but we can’t do it without you.

In-School Performances for assemblies of students – performances are provided in English as well as Bilingual
English-Spanish formats based on the student demographics and needs of the school.

New Program – We are pleased to have received a grant from the Telluray Foundation to help us create a new school program that mixes our current “Intro to the Orchestra” programming with activities and content designed to build social and emotional skills. We know musical experiences can be therapeutic and we want to be intentional in our program outcomes as we continue to bring joy to young people.

Library programming – These programs focus on getting kids moving, listening, and dancing along with musicians. We are particularly excited to have established a partnership with both Denver Public Libraries and Anythink Libraries to bring this program to every library branch before the end of 2023. At the end of program, children go home with their own bilingual storybook and will have access to virtual content including musical story time (along with educational games and activities) to follow along with at home.

I can talk to you about the educational benefits of music -and there are many – but I suggest we instead celebrate the emotional benefits and the pure and simple happiness that music (especially music programming like IO provides) brings to young people. Please help ensure we can continue providing programming by making a gift today. We promise your gift will be gratefully received and carefully used.

With gratitude,

Tiffany Pallotto
