Create a Concert Program

From the playlists of music below (or from all the pieces of music students know or have access to), have student choose multiple pieces of music to create a concert program. The music chosen for a performance is called repertoire. Some things for students to think about as they choose their repertoire:

  1. What type of ensemble will be performing? A trio, an orchestra, a jazz band?
  2. How long do they want the performance to be?
  3. Where is the concert happening? At a concert hall, a park, someone’s home, etc?
  4. How does the whole performance flow, from start to finish. What is the emotional journey people will go on as they listen to the program?
