Inside the Orchestra for Families

Inside the Orchestra for Families at the Center for Musical Arts

November 10th at 2:00PM – Center for Musical Arts

During a 45-minute performance, children and their grownups are seated on the floor and surrounded on all sides by 14 professional musicians. The conductor faces the audience and engages them throughout the performance, asking questions and teaching them about the music as it is being performed around them. Audience members are treated to up-close-and-personal demos by the instruments of the orchestra, get the chance to think creatively about the music, and a child even gets the chance to come up and conduct the orchestra.

After the performance, there will be 15 minutes for the kids to meet the musicians and see their instruments up close.

This program is free to the public but donations are welcome. You can make a donation online here or at the performance.
