Tiny Tots concerts will take place October 22nd through October 25th at the newly renovated McNichols building in downtown Denver, at Temple Emanuel in Hilltop, and at the Wildlife Experience in Parker. Museum admission is complimentary for Tiny Tots attendees at The Wildlife Experience.

Designed for children six and under, this 45-minute program gives young ones the chance to interact with the conductor and the musicians and learn about the instruments in the process. Children are encouraged to respond to different elements of the music, from thinking about how music makes them feel to getting on their feet and moving. They are treated to up-close-and-personal demos by various instruments, introduced to musical concepts, emotional understanding of the arts, and artistic expression. The music selection, design, and scripting of Tiny Tots is geared to connect very young children with music – physically, emotionally, and mentally. Kids, parents, grandparents, caregivers, and school groups are given the opportunity to dance, explore the instruments, and see world class performances designed for the age and stage of the kids in the audience. For 15-minutes after each concert, children are given the opportunity to meet the musicians, take a closer look at the instruments, and ask questions. This immersive and interactive experience is one of a kind. The fall series will feature music from Harry Potter and The Jungle Book, to Prokofiev and Bach.
Inside the Orchestra
Inside the Orchestra is a local nonprofit organization that brings orchestra music to young children in the greater Denver metropolitan community, cultivating music appreciation and enhancing their education through engaging first-hand experiences. Each year, Inside the Orchestra brings orchestra music to over 20,000 children and caregivers throughout Colorado through different programs – Inside the Orchestra for Schools, Inside the Orchestra for Families, and Tiny Tots. The Inside the Orchestra for Schools program is an interactive 50-minute program geared toward students in K-8th grade, wherein a 14-15 piece orchestra performs in-school assemblies. Students sit surrounded by the professional orchestra, as the conductor faces the audience and engages them throughout the performance, asking questions and teaching them about the music as it is playing around them. The audience is treated to up-close-and-personal demos by the strings, woodwinds, horns and percussion. Scripting is designed to not only introduce music concepts, but to tie to curriculum that children are studying in other subjects. In-classroom follow-up by the conductor and supplementary lesson plans are provided as well.
