If you’re ever in doubt that magic exists in the world, just spend a few minutes in the presence of children. Their imaginations are limitless, unburdened by the boring confines of reality. They have no problem believing in the impossible. They’re masters of make believe, purveyors of pretend, wizards of wonder. Their minds have the power to transform ordinary objects into the most amazing things imaginable. They are convinced that unicorns, mermaids, and monsters really do exist. And even the clumsiest slight-of-hand trick can dazzle and delight.
So, when do we, as grownups, lose this ability to believe in the unbelievable? When do we become so worn down by reality that we can no longer lose ourselves to that world of whimsey? Think back: can you remember the last time you experienced something truly magical? If you’re like most adults (myself included), it might take you a while to come up with an answer.
Suffice it to say, it’s time we brought some magic back into our lives, and Inside the Orchestra is here to help. On Thursday, April 5, we want to ignite your imagination, surprise your senses, and wrap you in a world of wonder. In short, we dare you to believe in magic again!
Inside the Orchestra for Adults is not your typical fundraiser gala. In fact, it’s probably the most fun you’ll have all year. No black ties needed here; sneakers to stilettos, Converses to cocktail dresses, all are welcome. It’s a night of fun and whimsey, mystery and surprise. It gives adults a chance to experience what kids already know and love: the thrill of losing yourself to your imagination. Tickle your taste buds with our delightful and creative food. Imbibe on our open bar, including beer from several local breweries. Bid on dozens of silent and live auction items, including restaurant gift cards, movie and theater tickets, hotel stays, jewelry, clothing, membership passes, vacation getaways, and more. Work your magic on games of chance, like a wine ring toss and a chance to win $500, and marvel at the magical musical performances that will take place throughout the night. There’s something for everyone, and it’s sure to delight even the most ardent muggles among us.
The true magic of the evening, though, happens after the event is over. All of the money raised from ticket sales, auctions, games of chance, and the call to action will help Inside the Orchestra continue to bring its valuable, one-of-a-kind educational programs to young children throughout the Denver metro community. Every year, Inside the Orchestra introduces music and the performing arts to thousands of Colorado children, many of whom have never seen a musical instrument in person let alone attended an orchestra performance. Studies show that an arts education is incredibly beneficial for children, particularly those who come from low-income communities. Children who participate in the arts from a young age consistently perform better and achieve more their non-arts participating peers. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and your opportunity to help thousands of Denver area children discover and experience the magic of music.
Tickets for Young Professionals under 35 are just $50 each, and general admission is $85 per ticket or $160 for two. For those of you seeking an extra dose of dazzle, you can purchase a VIP ticket for $145. VIP perks include complimentary parking and shuttle service, express check-in prior to the event, creative cocktails ready for you at your arrival, a private room for first drinks and surprises, gift bags, extra chances to win prizes throughout the night, and more.
We hope you will join us for a wonderful evening of excitement and the unexpected, all to bring some magic to our kids, our communities and ourselves.
