Oftentimes, I think people get tripped up by the notion that philanthropy has to be expensive. They believe the only way to make a meaningful impact is to write a check with lots of zeros on it, and they’re discouraged from making charitable donations because they don’t think they can give enough to make a difference. In reality, though, even small donations—like $5, $10, or $25—can have a huge and lasting impact. In fact, some of the most successful fundraising campaigns of all time raised hundreds of thousands of dollars because millions of people gave just $5 or $10 each.
You might not think that a $10 donation can do too much, but for a small nonprofit organization like Inside the Orchestra, every single dollar makes a world of a difference. Did you know that it only takes $10 to get a high-need child inside the orchestra? That’s right. For the same cost as two mocha lattes from a chain coffee store, for less than the cost of a movie ticket, for half the cost of a dinner entrée, you can help introduce a child to the incredible world of orchestra music and potentially change that child’s life.
And your donation makes an even larger impact when you consider how many other people are also making a donation. Just think, if 10 people gave just $10 each to Inside the Orchestra, well that’s enough to fund a DIY instrument-making station for an entire Tiny Tots series. If 12 people gave just $25 each, that’s enough for a whole classroom to attend a Tiny Tots program. Just think of how many lives you’ll be changing!
Our fiscal year ends June 30th, and our goal is to raise $15,000 — enough to support 1,500 kids during the 2018-19 season of programming. Raising these funds is critical to making sure we do not turn anyone away. Your donation, whether it’s $5, $50, or $500, will make a huge difference, especially for the kids, schools, and communities we serve.
And, now through the end of June, your dollar becomes even more valuable. For every $10 donation made by midnight June 30th, you’ll get a chance to win five tickets to every single Tiny Tots program in the 2018-19 season (that’s 152+ tickets) and two VIP tickets to our annual adults event. That’s a prize package worth more than $1,700!
Contributions don’t have to be large to have a huge impact, just like a small pebble can send ripples across the whole pond, and a tiny snowflake can turn into an avalanche if you add enough of them together. Don’t ever doubt it, your donation of any amount can—and does—make a huge difference.
